This is Sierra. I am sad and i will miss my friends but, I want to go on a adventure and meet new friends and eat new things. My dad( mike ) probably told you a story about (me one night saying its crazy how people trade time for money. )Well that is true I know I know you guys are like how can a 9 year old say some thing like that. I did not really think that I would go around the world for a year I mean how is a 9 year old supposed expect something like that.
Sierra already grasps a concept that most of us don't get until we are deep in the crap. When I realized that my quality of life sucked, I wanted off the machine... off but with the money!
ReplyDeleteI all depends on your definition of a quality life. There are people in Central America who feel like that very concept is their dream. To have the freedom to decide your class or status in life in one generation. The kids might say screw this, I'm gonna be a doctor or lawyer (yeah!). Still, this time may make them more appreciative of the opportunities available in the U.S. In the end, they win either way.
You know, I am prejudiced because of my MS but it would be interesting to investigate the social safety nets in each country. I know thats a downer but a necessary downer. I would be on the side of the road in a lot of countries.
